NEW LONDON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– A 22-year male has been found dead in Wolf River after falling off a bridge while with friends.
On Friday, August 24, a young male went missing after falling off the Pearl St. Bridge into Wolf River while spending time with his friends. According to his friends, they went into the river to try and locate him before calling authorities, however were unsuccessful with their search.
At approximately 12:58 a.m., The New London Police Department received a call from the victims’ friends reporting the incident. New London PD, Waupaca County SO, Outagamie County SO, and the New London FD were dispatched to the scene. New London Fire Department searched the river, along with the Waupaca County Dive team. They also used a drone. The Brown County Dive team was then sent to the scene with their sonar equipment to assist in the search.
At approximately 10:55 a.m., the Waupaca County Dive Team located the male’s body in the Wolf River close by where he fell in.
The male was 22 years old and from the Sheboygan area. The name has not yet been released. There is no further information at this time.
