(WTAQ-WLUK) — An Illinois man will spend a decade in federal prison for engaging in internet sex crimes with who he believed was a minor in Northeast Wisconsin.
Terrence Fabino, 61, of Lake County, Illinois, received his 10-year sentence Thursday after pleading guilty to a charge of attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor.
Officials say Fabino engaged in online communication with what he thought was a Northeast Wisconsin minor, but was actually an undercover law enforcement officer.
According to authorities, Fabino requested “sexually explicit images” from the minor and also sent an obscene photo of himself taken in the bathroom of a commuter train.
After completing his prison sentence, Fabino will spend three years on supervised release. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case.
