(LEARFIELD) – The injury bug has bitten the Brewers again.
The team is losing promising reliever Abner Uribe following knee surgery.
Uribe made the announcement official on social media while saying he is focusing on 2025.
He hasn’t pitched since early May and didn’t pitch well then. Uribe had an ERA of nearly seven while pitching in 14 games after a standout 2023 rookie season where he was outstanding.
Milwaukee now has four pitchers out for the next of the year with injuries – Uribe, Robert Gasser, Wade Miley, and Brandon Woodruff.
Although most teams resume play after the All-Star break tonight (Friday), the Brewers are off until Saturday when they play at Minnesota.
