Luke Schraufnagel of the Thorp FFA Chapter was elected to a year of service as the 2024-2025 Section Seven State FFA Officer during the 95th Wisconsin FFA Convention. His parents are Glen and Molly Schraufnagel. Glen is also Luke’s FFA advisor.
A 2024 graduate, Luke plans to attend a four year university to study biology and medical sciences. Upon graduating, he intends to apply for medical school and specialize in a program in otolaryngology. He hopes to serve as a doctor in rural Wisconsin.
During Luke’s time in FFA he has developed two supervised agricultural experience programs, the first focusing on working at three different dairy operations in his local community. His second project involves raising chickens. Through the years Schraufnagel has expanded his enterprise, collecting three to four dozen eggs daily and selling in his community, including partnering with two local businesses to meet their egg needs. Luke invests his profits and is improving his operation.
“The FFA itself does not change the lives of our future generation. It is the people within FFA that make the largest difference,” says Luke, as he reflects on his FFA career so far. He hopes to be that person for members this year, helping to “start a fire in their soul” for the opportunities and experiences in FFA
