SEVASTOPOL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The School District of Sevastopol has a new superintendent.
The district announced Randi Anderson was selected at the Board of Education’s Special Meeting on Tuesday.
Anderson will be replacing Superintendent Kyle Luedtke, whose resignation is effective June 30. Luedtke has been appointed the new superintendent in the Frederic School District.
Anderson began her teaching career in Grand Forks, North Dakota as an elementary mathematics teacher and curriculum coordinator. She then became a Senior Consultant for Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning and a Director of Assessment and Accountability in Colorado. She served as a Supervisor of Standards, Assessment and Program Improvement for the LaCrosse School District, prior to becoming a Director of Teaching and Learning in Minnesota. More recently, she served as superintendent of rural school districts both in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, and Shawano prior to her current position as a curriculum and strategic planning consultant for Leading Transformative Solutions, LLC.
In Shawano, Anderson resigned in 2022 amid an online petition calling for her removal and critical comments made by teachers in a survey.
She released a statement upon her resignation, saying:
Family is extremely important to me, and I need to spend more of my time focusing on family. For the past three years, I have truly enjoyed working alongside you.
She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in education administration from the University of North Dakota, and a superintendent endorsement from Viterbo University in La Crosse.
Anderson starts her new role on July 1.
