GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Two people face misdemeanor charges after allegedly injuring a dog, including by slamming its head against a vehicle.
Shamarion Cook, 22, is charged with mistreating an animal, intentional violation, and obstruction. Mackenzie Allen, 24, is charged with being party to mistreating an animal, and obstruction. Both are expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to an apartment on Ninth Street in Green Bay on Sunday.
A witness provided four videos to police, which show someone – allegedly Cook – slamming the dog’s head against the side of the vehicle, then apparently choking the dog. The witness also said the suspect stood on the dog, according to the complaint.
“Other officers located a small white dog behind the driver’s seat inside of the vehicle. I was advised that it appeared that the dog was injured, and a red liquid substance that is consistent with blood was located on the rear driver’s side window,” the complaint states.
Allen told police the blood found on the car was due to an animal bite, but could not provide specifics about the incident and would not identify a victim.
The complaint does not cite any comments from Cook about the incident.
