GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A pride flag was raised in front of Green Bay’s City Hall Monday, marking the start of LGBTQ Pride Month.
This is the third year the flag has been raised in front of City Hall for the month of June.
Last year, the city council debated the creation of a policy governing which flags can be raised on flagpoles at city government buildings. The move to create a policy failed, with Mayor Eric Genrich casting the tiebreaking vote.
On Friday, Gov. Tony Evers proclaimed June LGBTQ Pride Month in Wisconsin at a ceremony raising the pride flag over the state Capitol.
