(WTAQ-WLUK) — Winnebago County Public Health is inviting the community to help design its new vending machines stocked with life-saving supplies.
These harm reduction-themed public health vending machines are being funded through a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The goal is to increase the availability and accessibility of Narcan and fentanyl test strips.
Machines will be located at the David W. Albrecht Administrative Building (112 Otter Avenue in Oshkosh) and the Neenah Human Services Building (211 N. Commercial Street in Neenah).
WCPH wants to feature artwork from a community member on each machine. People in recovery, who support those in recovery or anyone looking to make a difference in the community are encouraged to submit designs.
Artwork must meet the following themes:
- Harm reduction saves lives.
- All people are capable of recovery.
- Decreasing the stigma of substance use disorder; people struggling with substance use disorders are valuable, seen and heard.
Submissions must be received by June 28. A panel of community partners will start reviewing designs July 11, and the finalist will be announced July 19, with a tentative unveiling this fall.
