APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Speed and alcohol are suspected in an early morning fatal crash in Appleton.
Just after 2 a.m., officers were dispatched near the intersection of E. Newberry Street and S. Weimer Street for a vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle crash. The sole occupant inside the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene.
Newberry Street was closed between Weimar and Schaefer Streets for several hours Friday morning. It reopened to traffic around 7:30 a.m.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
