APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — U.S. Venture officially signed an agreement to move its headquarters to downtown Appleton’s tallest building Friday morning.
The company signed a development agreement with the city to move into the 222 Building on College Avenue. U.S. Venture is committing to spend around $40 million to redevelop the building.
The city is contributing $2 million through a tax incremental financing district. In a TIF district, tax revenues from improvements to a property are diverted from some agencies such as school districts to pay for development costs.
The Appleton Common Council approved the development agreement in March.
The redevelopment project is expected to take about a year and a half.
All 650 jobs from the company’s current headquarters in Kimberly will move to the new downtown Appleton location.
