STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Authorities in Sturgeon Bay had quite an unusual task Thursday.
Members of the city’s police and fire departments assisted in removing an “unwanted passenger” from a citizen’s vehicle. Photos posted on social media show a raccoon trapped inside the engine compartment of a car.
Police identified the suspect as Trash E. Panda. Following 20 minutes of negotiations, he was escorted out of the vehicle and fled the scene. Anyone who locates the suspect is asked to alert him that he owes the vehicle’s driver money for gas.
Facebook users are getting a laugh out of the witty Facebook post and the humorous way the incident was described.
“What a cute hitch hiker!” says one comment. Another user wrote, “Cute picture of the animal. Thanks to the helpers.”
A third commenter said, “It is probably hanging with Outlaw McNugget!!” in reference to a 2021 incident in which an illusive rooster was taken into custody in a backyard on Sturgeon Bay’s northwest side.
