FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) — Pamphlets containing racist messaging have been popping up in the City of Fond du Lac.
They started showing up around Easter weekend in the neighborhood near Chegwin Elementary School. About 9 of them have been found.
“They were in little ziplock baggies with about 8 or 9 different pieces of paper with rice in them to weigh it down so the wind wouldn’t blow it away,” said Antonio Godfrey Sr., vice president of Ebony Vision.
The messaging is about illegal immigrants, white nationalism, the erasure of white people, and more.
Godfrey says Fond du Lac police are aware of the incident, and are working on locating a suspect.
“They have some information on the type of vehicle they were alleged to be using; it’s a rental moving truck,” said Godfrey.
Once a suspect is located, police will have to determine what may be protected under the first amendment, but they could be charged with loitering.
Anybody who comes across these pamphlets is encouraged to report it to the Fond du Lac Police Department.
