GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — After a quarter-century, the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon is ending its run.
Marathon officials say the 2024 race — the 25th — will be its final one. The marathon is set for May 19.
“When the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon started, the vision was to create a community event that shined a spotlight on Greater Green Bay, encouraged wellness and helped make a difference for local charities. This was achieved through more than 183,000 participants, millions of dollars in economic impact and nearly $1.8 million donated to local charities,” Brighid Riordan, CEO of Cellcom and board vice president of the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, said in a news release. “Our 2024 event will be a celebration of our collective accomplishments over the last quarter century, and we hope the community will join us on the course and at the finish line.”
This year’s event will benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and New Community Shelter.
