GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man from Appleton is in custody Thursday for his 7th OWI offense.
At 2:45 p.m., a Wisconsin State Patrol Inspector responded to a two-vehicle property damage crash on State Highway 15 near I-41 in Grand Chute. One of the drivers “was passed out and had to be woken up.”
Signs of impairment and standardized field sobriety indicated the driver was operating under the influence. He was arrested and a legal blood draw was conducted at a local hospital.
Gunnar Springer, 29, of Appleton, was subsequently booked into the Outagamie County Jail. He is being charged with OWI 7th offense, operating a motor vehicle while revoked and failing to have an ignition interlock device installed.
