(WNFL) – The Wisconsin Badgers got 28 points from AJ Storr and cruised past Michigan State at the Kohl Center in Madison on Friday.
Wisconsin which is now 16-4 overall and 8-1 in the Big Ten also got 15 points from Steven Crowl.
The Badgers outrebounded Michigan State 35-25, outscored Michigan State’s bench 22-11 and held their opponents to 41 percent field goal shooting while making 50 percent of their own shots.
Michigan State which trailed 43-34 at halftime was led by AJ Hoggard with 19 points. Malik Hall, Tyson Walker and Jaden Akins added 13, 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Including a 70-57 win in East Lansing earlier this season, Wisconsin completed its first home-and-away season sweep of Michigan State since the 2003-04 season. In fact, the Badgers never trailed in either meeting with the Spartans this season.
- Wisconsin’s 15-point win is the largest by any team over Michigan State this season and UW’s biggest margin against MSU since an 82-56 victory on Feb. 6, 2011.
- The Badgers improved to 16-4 on the season, including 8-1 in Big Ten play. UW is off to its best 20-game start since 2021-22 when it opened 17-3.
- UW won its 10th-consecutive home game, the team’s longest streak since winning 15 in a row from Jan. 14, 2020 to Dec. 22, 2020.
- AJ Storr scored a game-high 28 points, one shy of his career high. Including 22 points in East lansing earlier this season, Storr averaged 25.0 ppg in the two meetings with the Spartans.
- Tyler Wahl appeared in his 100th career win, becoming just the seventh Badger to reach that milestone.
