MANITOWOC, WI – On Monday, January 15, Farm Wisconsin honors Martin Luther King Day by hosting a food drive for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. With the donation of a non-perishable food item, guests will receive a half-priced admission to Farm Wisconsin.
From 9 am – 4 pm, family and friends can explore the discovery center and dive in to hands-on food, fuel, and fiber production in Wisconsin. After exploring the self-guided exhibits, Land O’Lakes birthing barn, and virtual tour of the Grotegut Dairy Farm, visitors can grab a bite to eat at the Wisconsin Café, open from 8 am – 2:30 pm.
“We recognize that many families are searching for options to entertain the kids when school is out,” shares Abigail Winkel, Farm Wisconsin brand manager. “Our special hours on Martin Luther King Day offer families the opportunity to engage and learn together, while also serving their community with a contribution to our food drive.”
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin strives to provide high-quality and healthy foods to those who encounter food insecurities throughout Wisconsin. As a nationwide effort, Feeding America replenishes food pantries, programs, shelters, etc. with donated goods from the community. The generosity and support from others help pave a stronger pathway to solving world hunger.
The following items most needed include canned goods, dried food goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, and toiletry items.
