(WNFL) – The big wrestling event this weekend for high school wrestlers in Wisconsin is the Cheesehead Invitational in Kaukauna. The matches start tonight at 5:15 and run through Saturday.

At 106, Brillion’s Parker Spierings is ranked 6th with Bay Port’s Braeden Hamill ranked 8th. At 113, Brillion’s Logan Mueller is 7th with De Pere’s Mycah Beckett 8th and Luxemburg-Casco’s Carson Blohowiak 10th. Carson Neubert of Luxemburg-Casco is ranked 2nd at 120 pounds with Wyatt Magolski of New London ranked 3rd. Bay Port’s Owen Wathke is 7th.
Three area wrestlers are ranked at 126. Alois Schlumpf of Bay Port, Bob Huntley of Brillion and Izaiah Sanchez of Shiocton are ranked 8, 9 and 10, respectively. At 132 pounds, Lucas Peters of Kaukauna is ranked No. 1. Freedom’s Peter Tomazevic is ranked 10th. At 132 pounds, Neenah’s Declan Koch and Hortonville’s Nolan Skebba are ranked 5th and 7th, respectively.
Neenah’s Jacob Herm is ranked No. 1 at 144 pounds. At 150 pounds, Max Ronsman of Luxemburg-Casco is ranked 3rd, Brody Hart of Winneconne is ranked 4th, Henry Niebauer of Hortonville is ranked 6th and Jacob Durocher of Wrightstown checks in at No. 10.
At 157 pounds, Kaukauna’s Peyton Lee is ranked 4th with Kiel’s Eyan Desselier ranked 8th. Moving on to 165 pounds, Liam Crook of Kaukauna is ranked 4th. At 175 pounds, Jake Stoffel of Appleton North is ranked No. 1. Moving on to 190 pounds, Luxemburg-Casco’s Trace Schoenebeck is ranked 5th.
At 215 pounds, Vanden Hoffman of Weyauwega-Fremont is ranked 8th with Connor Thomas of Peshtigo at No. 10. At 285 pounds, Appleton North’s Brock Arndt is ranked 4th with Freedom’s Hunter VandenHeiden ranked 7th.
Let’s hit the pool: Bay Port has dropped out of the top 5 rankings for Division 1 in the lastest Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association rankings.
Middleton, Vel Phillips Memorial, Verona, Franklin and Brookfield Central/East make up the current top 5.
In Division 2, McFarland in ranked first followed by Nicolet, Chilton/Brillion/Valders, Madison Edgewood and Monona Grove.
Among events, Bay Port’s Carter Tebon is ranked No. 1 in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:51.65. He is not quite 4 seconds faster than second-place Abram Mueller of Madison West.
In Division 2, Tarik Schneider of Chilton/Brillion/Valders is ranked third among divers with a score of 294.30. Tyler Emory of Whitefish Bay is first with a score of 314.95. Pulaski is ranked second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.05. McFarland is ranked first with a time of 1:32.34.
