HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage to a home and its contents in Howard Thursday night.
Firefighters say they were called to a home in the 1800 block of Glenview Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. for a report of smoke coming from the attic. Crews arrived to find smoke and flames in the attic, which was over the attached garage. Firefighters were able to control the fire within minutes. They remained on scene for about an hour and a half.
There was no damage to the living quarters, and the residents were able to return home.
The fire does not appear suspicious, the Howard Department says.
