GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Veterans in Green Bay were surprised with some green and gold holiday cheer Tuesday.
Some Green Bay Packers players took some time off the field to surprise veterans who came in for their appointments at the Milo C. Huempfner VA Clinic.
Packers players Patrick Taylor, Yosh Nijman, Kristian Welch, Henry Pearson, Benny Sapp III and Kenneth Odumegwu thanked veterans for their service, served coffee, and visited with them.
Offensive lineman, Yosh Nijman, says it was great to see the smiles on the faces of the veterans when they walked into the clinic and saw that Packers players were there to see them.
“The holidays is a great time for family and giving and to reach out to loved ones and family and the importance of holiday, which is giving. Today we are here to give our time and to show our appreciation so ‘tis the season,” Nijman said.
Some veterans even scored a few autographs from players.
