DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – OSHA is investigating the death of a worker who was fatally injured at Robinson Inc. in De Pere.
An obituary says Russell Norman, 51, died Dec. 8 “as a result of injuries sustained in an industrial accident.”
OSHA says the incident happened Nov. 30 at Robinson Inc., a metal fabrication company located at 1740 Eisenhower Road.
“The OSHA area office confirmed the individual in the obit, is the employee injured on Nov. 30,” said Rhonda Burke, deputy director of public affairs for the Dept. of Labor.
No other details of the incident were released. Norman’s obituary states he worked at Robinson Inc. for 34 years. “He was an outstanding welder and machine/laser operator,” the obituary reads.
OSHA has six months to complete its investigation, issue citations and propose monetary penalties, if the investigation finds violations of OSHA regulations.
Norman’s death marked the second fatal industrial accident in Northeast Wisconsin in a five-day span.
On Dec. 5, a 57-year-old Kaukauna man, Francis Wolfinger, was killed as a result of an incident at Konz Wood Products in Grand Chute. OSHA is also investigation Wolfinger’s death.
