APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One man has been charged after an incident involving a gun at an Appleton restaurant Sunday morning.
According to an official with the Appleton Police Department, officers were dispatched to a fight in progress inside Sangria’s Mexican Grill around 11:15 a.m.
During the fight, there was mention of a gun. Police then searched the restaurant and found a gun.
Online court records show Brian Kairu, 26, of Appleton was charged Monday with armed robbery, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of battery or threat to law enforcement, operating firearm while intoxicated, theft, resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.
Appleton police say this incident is not related to the downtown shooting that left one injured over the weekend.
