WITTENBERG, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A teenage boy who was hospitalized with serious injuries after being pinned under an ATV in a crash Tuesday has died.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office announced the 13-year-old’s death in a news release sent late Thursday.
Deputies were dispatched to an ATV crash in a field area on Nightingale Road near Oak Road in the town of Wittenberg just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The caller reported the driver and lone occupant of the ATV was unconscious and unresponsive. Because no one saw the crash happen, it is unknown how long the boy had been pinned under the ATV prior to the arrival of first responders.
Wittenberg School District will continue to have resources in place for their staff and students, according to the release.
Because the victim is a juvenile, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office said it will not release his name.
