OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A downtown hotel will close for at least two months for remodeling, putting 33 people out of work for that time, according to a notice filed with the state.
The Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center, 1 N. Main St., is undergoing the renovations, according to the letter signed by Janey Jarrett, of LBMC Employment Partners.
“The employment site will be shut down temporarily due to renovations scheduled to occur approximately at the end of January 2024 until the end of March 2024. Our best estimate for the renovation time period is two to three months,” Jarrett wrote.
The hotel was purchased earlier this year Scarlet Hotel Group, based in Deerfield, IL. It has 176 guest rooms, 5,600 square feet of meeting/event space in the hotel, and 19,000 square feet of flexible meeting space in the convention center.
