GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two teens have been charged in adult court in connection with a drive-by shooting in Green Bay.
Myles Schinke, 17, and Vance Degeneffe, 16, were charged with being party to the crime of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, driving or operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, knowingly fleeing/eluding an officer and possession of a firearm by someone adjudicated delinquent of a felony. They were also both charged with intentionally contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Police say they suspected Schinke and Degeneffe within days of the June 9 shooting, but it was only recently that new evidence was collected that allowed investigators to recommend charges.
Police believe that the intended target, a 17-year-old boy, was not inside the N. Broadway home at the time of the shooting. Three people were home, a 45-year-old woman, a 38-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl. None of those people were injured.
Online court records indicate arrest warrants have been issued for Schinke, of Little Chute, and Degeneffe, for whom no address was listed.
