Cedar Rapids opened the Wisconsin TimberRattlers season ending home stand with a 6-3 victory at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium Tuesday night, ending Wisconsin’s 8 game winning streak, their longest in 12 years. Wisconsin drops to 32-28 in the second half of the Midwest League season and they have just the faintest hope of reaching the playoffs with five games remaining. Milwaukee Brewer Andrew Ashby will make his second rehab start for Wisconsin Wednesday afternoon at 12:10 PM.
Cameron Wagoner of the TimberRattlers was named the Midwest League pitcher of the month for August, posting a 4-0 record with a 1.37 ERA in five games, four of them starts. It was quite a rebound for Wagoner who began August with a 1-11 record. It’s the first pitcher of the month award this year for the club.
