GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — In the final stretch of summer, the Green Bay Area Public School District is looking to attract more staff for the 2023/2024 school year.
Hoping to catch some traffic from the Farmers Market on Broadway; the district is hosting a walk in job fair at the district office building (200 S. Broadway Street) on Wednesday from 3-6 p.m.
People are encouraged to stop by and learn about the various full time and part time positions available.
Although not required, bringing a resume is encouraged. On the spot interviews may also be conducted.
“We still have a few teaching positions open, custodians, food service workers, substitute teachers, substitute support staff, paraprofessionals, monitors…” said Green Bay Area Public School District Director of Communications, Lori Blakeslee.
While it’s a quick turn around time between now and the start of the school year, Blakeslee says their hiring process is through and efficient.
“We have a process where we do background checks prior to people starting as well as board approvals.” said Blakeslee. “We work pretty quickly to try to get our school staffed for that first day of school.”
Should positions still be open on the first day of school, contingency plans are put in place to keep the schools operational. Some employees may work overtime, and teachers would take on additional responsibilities.
