(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers were simply overpowered by the Atlanta Braves in the opener of a 3-game series on Friday in Atlanta.
The Braves hit 3 home runs and defeated the Brewers 10-7.
Abraham Toro went 2-for-4 for the Brewers with a home run and 4 RBI. Sal Frelick continued to hit getting 2 hits for Milwaukee as did Andruw Monasterio.
Adrian Houser started and took the loss for the Brewers. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings with Bryse Wilson allowing the remaining 4 Braves runs in the seventh inning.
Christian McHugh got the win for Atlanta which pounded out 15 hits against the Milwaukee pitching staff.
Game 2 of the series is Saturday night with a 5:45 pre-game and 6:20 first pitch on 1360 and 97.5 WTAQ.
