SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police confirm they are investigating an assault at Shawano Community Middle School.
The school district says on Tuesday, one student assaulted another. The incident was handled immediately, the district says. The victim was not seriously injured physically and returned to school on Wednesday.
School leaders also said they became aware of a social media post about the assault after a parent emailed the superintendent.
In a news release, the district said:
Parents, guardians and family members: please help your children know that they can safely report and suspicions they have or seek help from all adults at school. Also, please alert them that any actions that threaten our school environment will be taken seriously by school administration.
