KIMBERLY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Authorities are working to find the person responsible for causing more than $3,000 worth of damage at a Kimberly park.
In early May, officials were notified of significant damage caused to a bathroom facility door at Sunset Park, near the scenic overlook.
Investigators believe the vandalism happened May 6 during an event while the facility was being rented. Police determined the damage was caused by an unknown individual during the time of the event. It is further believed this unknown person used a vehicle to force the door open.
Police add that those they spoke to are not fully cooperating with the investigation or refusing to return calls from investigators.
Fox Valley Metro Police wrote, “It is our hope to identify the person or persons responsible for this damage so that they can either be prosecuted and/or restitution can be made with the Village of Kimberly, so that the cost is not passed along to the community.”
Those with information should call Officer Duane Dissen at 920)788-7505 or email duane.dissen@fvmpd.org. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact the Quad Communities Crime Stoppers by calling (920)788-9090. You may be eligible for a cash reward.
