BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Those in the western half of the village of Bellevue are being advised to boil their drinking water or use bottled water.
Village officials say an equipment malfunction led to the loss of water pressure. When that happens, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources requires a water utility to issue a boil/bottled water notice since water could become contaminated.
The area affected is west of Interstate 43 and south of Main Street, also Continental Drive.
Village officials say people water used for drinking, food preparation and ice-making should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute or should come from a commercially bottled source.
Pressure has been restored and the village is flushing water mains and storage facilities in the area.
After this process is completed, the village will test water samples for two days in a row before it can issue an all-clear.
