TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The newest four-legged member of the Two Rivers Police Department is on assignment across the state.
Daisy the therapy dog is in St. Croix County, offering support in the wake of Deputy Kaitie Leising’s death.
Deputy Leising was shot and killed Sunday by a suspected drunken driver during a traffic stop.
The 12-weeks-old Australian Labradoodle is part of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Death Response (LEDR) Team, which offers support to law enforcement agencies that suffer line of duty deaths.
Daisy also made trips to Cameron and Chetek — two communities in western Wisconsin that lost officers last month.
