FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A jury convicted Jayson Keniston Monday of attacking a Fond du Lac police officer.
The jury convicted Keniston, 45, of nine counts, including battery to a police officer and resisting an officer causing great bodily harm. He was acquitted of one count of strangulation, according to a court official.
A sentencing date was not immediately available.
According to Fond du Lac police and the criminal complaint, officers responded to an apartment building on E. Merrill Avenue for a disturbance on Jan. 13, 2022. Officer Marcus Clapper encountered Keniston in the hallway. The officer asked other residents to return to their apartments, when Keniston attacked.
Clapper, a four-year veteran of the department, suffered a broken nose, fractured finger and other non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at a hospital and released.
