MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A portion of Manitowoc’s Mariners Trail will be closed beginning Thursday, with the start of a reconstruction project.
Crews will close the area between the Little Manitowoc River bridge and Reed Avenue beginning Thursday. Work on Thursday and Friday will include removing about 15 ash trees, several other kinds of trees and a strip of woody vegetation.
Work really begins on Monday, though, when crews will work to widen the trail from eight feet to 10 feet wherever possible.
The closure is expected to last until June 2.
