SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) — At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25 officers of the city of Shawano Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing on the 100 block of Acorn Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old Keshena man on the ground outside of a residence suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound to his abdomen.
Officers provided medical care until Shawano Ambulance arrived and transported the victim to the ThedaCare Shawano. The victim was subsequently flown by ThedaStar to ThedaCare-Neenah for treatment.
“A short time later, a Shawano County Sheriff’s deputy located an individual matching the description,” said Chief Brad Rabideau, “Through investigation, it turned out that was the suspect in the disturbance with the stabbing.”
The suspect was identified as a 21-year-old Shawano man who was taken into custody on a probation hold related to this incident.
There is no current danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing and a request for charges stemming from this incident are expected to be forwarded to the Shawano County District Attorney’s Office.
