DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Construction will begin next week on an over $1.55 million resurfacing project on Wisconsin 42 in Door County.
The 1.2-mile project will stretch from Egg Harbor Road to the mid-junction of 42 and Wisconsin 57 in the town of Sevastopol.
The project includes resurfacing the road and shoulders and widening the paved shoulders. Crews will also be replacing culvert pipes and storm sewer inlets and upgrading guardrails.
Most of the work will occur during the overnight hours, but the northbound bypass lane at County BB may require daytime closures for guardrail work.
While 42 will remain open to traffic between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., drivers will need to use a detour which includes Egg Harbor Road, Old Highway Road, County BB and County HH.

Construction begins April 24 and is expected to finish in June.
