GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Sexual assault charges have been dismissed against a former Green Bay elementary school teacher.
Kelton Jennings had faced two counts, including repeated sexual assault of the same child, for incidents with two students at Beaumont Elementary. He had pleaded not guilty. No trial date had been set.
According to court documents, prosecutors moved to dismiss the charges Friday, which a judge approved. Prosecutors could re-file the charges.
Court documents do not state a reason for the change.
According to the criminal complaint, the incidents happened between Oct. 1 and Feb. 10. The complaint says two students told investigators Jennings touched their chests inappropriately. Another student told police she witnessed Jennings touch one of the victims.
Jennings later resigned from the district.
