SHIOCTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The sturgeon began to spawn over the weekend amid warmer temperatures in Northeast Wisconsin.
Now the temperatures are feeling more seasonable and the sturgeon are not as active on Monday morning.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says lake sturgeon spawn at about 53 degrees Fahrenheit. It says if high water levels are a factor this spring, spawning will likely be delayed.
