OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Registration is now open for No Mow May in Oshkosh. This comes after Green Bay and De Pere announced they would move forward with their plans for the year despite Appleton’s debate on the matter.
No Mow May is a conservation initiative intended to support bees by providing pollinator friendly habitats.
During the month of May, the city relaxes its enforcement of the long grass and weed cutting ordinance for registered participants.
No Mow May is voluntary and free, but registration is required by April 30.

Unlike some other cities, participating residents do not need a sign in their lawn to indicate that they are participating in the initiative.
Unregistered properties may still be subject to penalties for long grasses or weeds during the month.
