STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Door County Candle Company has been sharing light and hope with those impacted by the Ukrainian war against Russia. On Wednesday, the company announced it reached its $1 million fundraising goal for Razom for Ukraine.
When the company first started fundraising to support Ukrainians impacted by the Russian invasion last February, it had a goal of $5,000.
The company then decided to double down on its efforts last August. At the time, the $1 million goal may have seemed ambitious, but the company now says there are millions more to be raised.
The Ukraine Candle was transformational for Door County Candle Company, as the business evolved into a philanthropic candle company.

Apart from supporting Ukrainians, the company also raised funds in response to an earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria in February and for those impacted by Hurricane Ian last summer.
