MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man is in jail on his sixth alleged OWI offense after attempting to flee from deputies Monday morning.
Jason Sieracki, 45, is currently being held on $3,000 cash bail on felony flee/elude, resisting/obstructing and sixth offense operating while intoxicated.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says that a deputy noticed a car traveling north on State Highway 42 near Pine River Road in the Town of Newton.
The car did not have a front license plate and looked to have fresh front-end damage, according to the deputy.
When the deputy attempted to stop the car, Sieracki drove away.
The car crossed over the centerline repeatedly and attempted to escape down several town roads, according to the deputy. Sieracki traveled between 30 mph and 70 mph for about five miles before officers were able to successfully stop him near English Lake Road and Brunner Road.
No one was injured during the pursuit, but both vehicles received minor damage.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office released video of the final few minutes of the chase on their Facebook page.
“Another clear example of someone who should not be on our roads,” said Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig. “This is the sixth time being arrested for drunk driving, and his actions continue to put our citizens at risk. I applaud my deputies for getting this dangerous intoxicated driver off our streets.”
Sieracki will make his initial court appearance on April 17.
