MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A woman is dead and a man is hospitalized after a house fire in Manitowoc County.
An 80-year-old woman is dead and a 56-year-old man in the hospital after a fire in the town of Newton around 5:15 a.m. Friday.
The Newton Fire Department said a neighbor across the street from the Newton Road house called after hearing an explosion.
The two, as well as a dog who was brought to an area veteranian, were the only ones home at the time.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office says this is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information is being released at this time.
