ST. PETERSBURG, FLA (WTAQ-WLUK) – UPDATE: Both Jason and Chason were found safe in St. Petersburg, Florida Wednesday morning.
Police say around 5 a.m., Jason approached an officer in St. Petersburg, looking for directions to his daughter’s house. The St. Petersburg officer ran the vehicle and Chason’s name through the system and saw New London police was looking for them. St. Petersburg reunited Chason with his adult sister who lives in St. Petersburg. Chason will return to Wisconsin soon with his mother.
Police say there are no arrests in this case and Jason is not in custody.
NEW LONDON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police are looking to check on a father and son from New London who haven’t been seen or heard from in a day.
Jason Moore, 45, and his 12-year-old son Chason, were last seen around 7:30 a.m. Monday. They were headed to Appleton to get a car’s oil changed, police say. According to authorities, Jason Moore has a history of mental illness.
Police believe they are in a black 2011 four-door Hyundai Sonata with Wisconsin license plate number ABM-6375.
Police Chief Jeffrey Schleuter says investigators have no information that Chason Moore is in immediate danger, and the case does not qualify for an Amber Alert.
