NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Were you in one of the century’s worth of classes at Roosevelt Elementary School in Neenah?
If so, you’re invited to take one more walk through the building’s halls.
A public walk-through of the building is set for 1-3 p.m. March 19. There will be photos and memorabilia displayed throughout the building, and current staff members will be available to answer questions and provide assistance.
Roosevelt is closing at the end of the school year. Students will move to Horace Mann, which will become a 5K-grade 4 school under the district’s facilities plan. The Alliance Charter School, which is also housed at Roosevelt, will move to the current Wilson Elementary School building.
Roosevelt was built for a little more than $78,000 (about $1.36 million in 2023 dollars). It opened on Sept. 17, 1923. Additions were built in 1924, 1969, 1990 and 1996.
The building has been sold to John Bergstrom for $1 million.
