GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man who tried to hire someone to kill his sexual assault victim and her mother was convicted by a jury of assaults and the murder solicitations.
Laene Piontek will be sentenced May 30 after a jury convicted him Friday of five charges, including two counts of repeated sexual assault of the same trial, and two counts of solicitation of first-degree intentional homicide.
Piontek repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl over the course of several years in 2014 and 2015, according to the complaint in that case.
A jail inmate told police Piontek offered him $20,000 for the murders, and wanted it to look like an accident. Piontek gave descriptions of the two, as well as making diagrams of their residence, according to the criminal complaint.
