HOWARD, WI (WTAQ) – On Saturday morning, at approximately 5:02 AM the Brown County Sheriff’s Office received an open line 911 call. The Brown County Communications Center was able to determine the phone was inside a vehicle and provided location information to deputies.
The vehicle was located in the Village of Howard and when deputies attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled. The vehicle drove down a dead end road in the Village of Howard and struck a home a the end of the cul-de-sac.
Preliminary investigation indicates that one of the vehicle’s occupants fled the crash scene on foot while the other occupant remained on scene. The fleeing occupant was taken into custody a short time later with the help of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit. Drugs are believed to be a factor in the incident.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department, Howard Fire Department and County Rescue.
