GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The “Give Big Green Bay” charity donation drive netted $2,468,183 which will benefit 45 organizations. This year there were 3,826 donors.
Give Big Green Bay has been an annual event for the last six years and has raised over $10.4 million over those years. Dennis Buehler with Give Big Green Bay says they raised almost exactly the same amount this year as last year.
While the fundraising is certainly a crucial aspect of the event, Buehler shares another important outcome.
“Organizations are learning about eachother, so they’re able to say ‘what if we start working together and doing something interesting?'”, said Buehler. “So we’re always amazed to hear about those connections.”
The organization that received the highest amount of donations this year was the Ecumenical Partnership for Housing at $163,730, according to the website.
