WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WLUK) — The first weekday of the second and final week of sturgeon spearing saw few fish taken on Lake Winnebago.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says 26 fish were registered — three juvenile females, 13 adult females and 10 males.
The busiest registration station was at Pipe, where seven sturgeon were registered. The Neenah registration station will remain closed for the rest of the season, the DNR announced.

The largest fish of the day was a 130.8-pound, 79.5-inch male speared by Kenneth Rach and registered at Stockbridge.
For the season, spearers have registered 992 sturgeon on Lake Winnebago and 285 on upriver lakes Poygan, Winneconne and Butte des Morts. The season on the upriver lakes ended Saturday. Spearing on Lake Winnebago ends this coming Sunday.
