ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) — Don’t let the recent warm weather fool you; a winter storm is making its way over to us beginning on Tuesday evening. This winter storm will be broken up into two parts.
We’ll see snow Tuesday night; then a lull in activity on Wednesday morning before it picks up again on Wednesday night. Rebecca Kruk from the National Weather Service predicts lots of snow.
“The storm total is looking to be in excess of a foot of snow” said Kruk. “A lot of that snow is forecasted during the second part; Wednesday evening through Thursday evening.”
Only 2-5 inches of snow are expected for the first part of the storm. This snow is expected to be fluffy and powdery in consistency. The snow coming Wednesday night through Thursday night is expected to be much more dense.
Strong winds are predicted across central and east-central Wisconsin, in addition to the lakeshore were wind gusts of up to 40mph are possible.
Make sure you allow plenty of time if you have to travel on the roads, have your car winter emergency kits ready, and dress for conditions.
