MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) — During the early morning hours of February 8, Manitowoc Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a naked man running though backyards in the area of the 3300 block of Wildwood Drive.
Officers arrived and located footprints in the snow, and confirmed that the subject was not wearing shoes. Due to the temperatures hovering under 30-degrees, K9 Neko and his handler, Officer Koenig, along with the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office drone attempted to track the subject.
K9 Neko tracked the subject through several backyards, and located clothing and property belonging to the subject. The subject was eventually located unconscious and lying naked in the snow in the area of Chasm Lane. He was identified as a 48-year-old Sheboygan County man.
Manitowoc Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the subject to a local hospital, where it was learned he was moderately hypothermic and possibly under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs.
His vehicle was located in the 3500 block of Waldo Boulevard, and it is believed that he was in the winter elements since leaving his vehicle. Over the past couple days, neighbors in this area have contacted the Police Department to return the subject’s property that was located in their yards.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Manitowoc Police Department at (920) 686-6551.
