GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Metro Fire Department responded to a call of smoke and flames coming from a home at in the 11-hundred block of Emile Street around 5:45 pm Sunday.
Fire officials report crews arrived within four minutes to find fire coming from a second floor apartment door on the back side of the house.
The fire was put out quickly according to fire officials.
The other apartment on the property had only minor damage from water.
The male resident evacuated and was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation, and was listed in stable condition.
Fire officials indicated the fire appeared to start in the kitchen, as the fire marshals continue their investigation into the cause of the blaze.
Fire officials say in addition to the occupant, they were able to locate and remove two dogs, three cats and a snake.
A total of three adults were displaced by the fire.
